Pushback Rack Systems in Greater Cincinnati
A pushback rack lets you store two to six pallets deep in a single lane while still loading and picking from one aisle. Pallets ride nested carts on inclined rails, so the newest pallet in pushes the others back and gravity brings the next one forward when you pull a load out.
For warehouses carrying several pallets of the same SKU, pushback pallet racking often adds far more positions than another row of selective rack ever could. We model both in the same layout so you can see the position count and the price per pallet before you decide.
How Pushback Rack Works
Loading
The driver sets the first pallet on the front cart. Each additional pallet pushes the cart train deeper into the lane, so one aisle serves the whole depth.
Nested carts on rails
Steel carts with nylon or steel wheels roll on inclined rails. Each cart nests under the one in front of it, which is what makes multi-deep storage possible in one bay.
Retrieval
Pull the front pallet and gravity rolls the next cart forward to the pick face. No driving into the structure and no repositioning by hand.
LIFO flow
Last in, first out per lane. That fits fast-moving product and anything where rotation is managed by lane rather than by individual pallet.

What a Project Includes
Pushback layouts live or die on the pallet detail. We start by confirming pallet type, footprint, overhang, and load weight, because cart spacing and rail incline are built around that profile rather than a generic 48x40 assumption.
From there we set lane depth. Deeper lanes store more, but only if you actually carry that many pallets per SKU, so we compare a two-deep and a four-deep version of the same footprint and show what each does to total positions and to your pick face count.
The quote covers frames, beams, rails, carts, and any guarding, itemized so you can see what the density is costing per position. Rails and carts are set and tested during installation, and the crew verifies cart travel in every lane before turning the system over.
