Drive-In Rack Systems in Greater Cincinnati
Drive-in rack removes the aisles. Forklifts drive inside the structure and set pallets on continuous rails, which packs more pallet positions into a footprint than any other system we sell. For warehouses holding large volumes of a few SKUs, that trade is usually worth it.
Drive-in loads and unloads from one end for LIFO flow; drive through pallet racking is open at both ends for FIFO. We lay out drive in warehouse racking around your lift truck dimensions and your SKU depth, then show the position count next to a selective plan so the density gain is a number, not a claim.
How Drive-In Rack Works
Rails, not beams
Pallets rest on continuous rails carried by upright frames. Rail elevations are set once per level, so the lane accepts pallet after pallet at the same height.
Forklift enters the lane
The driver travels inside the bay to place or retrieve loads. Lane width, rail height, and mast clearance are dimensioned to your specific truck.
Drive-in versus drive through
One open end gives LIFO and the highest density. Two open ends give FIFO with slightly fewer positions, since each lane needs access from both sides.
Protection built in
Guide rails, column guards, and rail-end protection are part of the design, because a lane that gets clipped daily is a lane that needs repairs.

What a Project Includes
Drive-in design begins with the forklift. Mast height, overall width, load backrest, and turning clearance decide lane dimensions, so we collect the truck specifications before drawing anything.
Then we look at SKU depth. Drive-in rewards deep lanes of the same product and punishes variety, so we count how many pallets you hold per SKU and set lane depth accordingly. Where the profile is mixed, we will recommend a hybrid layout with selective at the pick face and drive-in behind it.
The quote itemizes frames, rails, rail supports, guide rails, and column protection, with a CAD drawing showing lane depth, rail elevations, and total positions. Installation partners anchor, plumb, and align every rail run, then verify a loaded pallet travels the full lane before handover.
Because drive-in lanes see contact from lift trucks, we keep replacement rails and guards available locally and handle repairs without a long lead time.
