How is cantilever rack different from pallet rack?

Pallet rack has a front beam and stores discrete pallets. Cantilever has an open front, so long material loads from the side and slides in without clearing an obstruction. That is the whole reason it exists.

How far apart should the columns be?

Close enough that the load does not sag between arms. A common starting point puts arm spacing at about half the load length, with the remainder overhanging each end evenly. We check it against your heaviest bundle.

Straight arms or inclined arms?

Straight arms suit boxed, banded, or sheet goods. Inclined arms, usually with a lip, keep pipe, tube, and round stock from rolling forward. Many runs use both across different levels.

Can I add arms or levels later?

Yes. Arms mount at set increments up the column, so levels can be added or repositioned as your product mix shifts, as long as the total load stays within the rated capacity of the column and base.

Can you work around our shipping schedule?

Yes. Most projects here are phased by zone, and nights or weekends are an option when receiving and shipping cannot pause. We agree the sequence with your operations lead before materials arrive.

How quickly can you get cantilever rack into a Hamilton warehouse?

Standard components generally ship within a few days of an approved order, and complete projects — layout, steel, and installation — typically run one to four weeks depending on size. If you have a hard date, say so early and we will build the schedule backward from it.

Columns and bases

Upright columns sit on bases anchored to the slab. Base depth is set by load and arm length so the run stays stable under an off-center pick.

Arms on adjustable spacing

Arms bolt or pin into the column at set increments and move as your product mix changes. Straight arms suit boxed goods; inclined arms with lips hold round or loose stock.
